MegaTrends 2023 🌊

Here is your weekly dose of 3-Bullet Monday, a list of what I’m pondering and exploring. Please feel free to forward this along to friends.

What I’m Watching:

I’ve been watching a lot of Jordan Peterson and Andrew Huberman documentaries lately.

Because I want to know the next big trend in Mental Health/Biohacking.

In the last three years, we’ve experienced an incredibly turbulent phase (2020-2022).

I’d argue that we’ve seen more changes in the last three years than in the previous decade (2010 to 2019).

With the pandemic, vaccines, and lockdowns…

We’ve also seen the digitalization of our lifestyle (both work and play).

At one point, I was stuck in my house for over a month, and it was incredibly difficult to cope. (Fortunately, I had my trusted therapist to help me with it).

What I’ve noticed is this…

It’s not just me…

Many people around me are struggling, too – with their work, marriages, and daily responsibilities.

This led me to this conclusion:

Our brains are Wired for Stability, not Chaos.

When there’s too much chaos where things are always changing, we struggle to adapt, and it can take a toll on our mental health.

The good news is that as an entrepreneur and marketer, there are ways to leverage on this rising tide.

You can start looking deeper into the therapy, spiritual healing or biohacking niche.

What I’m Reading:

Lately I’ve been re-reading Blue-Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne.

Here’s why:

From 2020-2022, we’ve seen the online marketing space blow up – tonnes of players from other industries have joined this space, making it hypercompetitive.

I foresee this trend continuing and even worsening.

As recessions create unemployment and unstable employment, more people will experiment with side hustles and entrepreneurship.

They’d be more motivated to leave their comfy ‘9-5’ to try something new.

And guess what?

These people will be the digital entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

If you’re running an online business right now – 2023 is a critical year to work on your positioning.

This is a great year to look into New Niches. (This explains why we have big plans for the Women Leadership category in 2023).

Because if you don’t, you risk getting obsolete.

And that’s why I’m revising the Blue Ocean Strategy.

What I’m Thinking:

Here’s a pretty contrarian thought I have for 2023.

And that is:

Low-Ticket and Mid-Ticket will Rule

As we enter a recessionary environment, many companies and people will see their budgets shrink as they’d have weaker spending power.

Hence, it might be more challenging for them to pay for high-ticket offers (It’s still possible but way harder than before).

2023 is a great year to experience new Low-Ticket and Mid-Ticket Offers.

Low-Ticket offers help to onboard new clients into your ecosystem.

Mid-Ticket Offers can drive revenue for your business.

While I have Inner Sanctum as the highest-tier offering of my business, I, too, have my mid-tier offers (Holy Grail Copywriting) to drive revenue.

And my front-end offers to acquire buyers.

Because of the recessionary environment, I’m taking certain measures to protect myself – I’ll discuss these strategies in a separate setting as this sharing can go off tangent.

In a Nutshell, these are the 3 biggest Mega-Trends I see for 2023:

  1. Mother of all Mental Health Crisis
  2. The Need to Create a New Niche or Category.
  3. Low-Ticket and Mid-Ticket will Rule
